In 2005, whilst attending the Australian Osteopathic Association Convocation in Darwin, Yvan met Robyn Seamer and Manuela Da Rin, both lecturers in the Biodynamic principles of Osteopathy in the cranial field
As a result of this fortuitous meeting and due to a deep mutual interest in the treatment of children, the first seminar in the Biodynamic model of OCF was held at the Busselton clinic, in February, 2007. In March, 2008, the second course was conducted, with interstate as well as W.A. Osteopaths attending.
Dedication by keen participants of these seminars resulted in the inauguration of a Saturday ‘Children’s Clinic’ held on a continuing monthly basis since April, 2007.
Biodynamic model in the treatment of children:
Dr. James Jealous D.O. developed the Biodynamic model and adapted this model specifically for the treatment of children.
A particular aspect of this model involves a friendly and non-formal approach by allowing several children to be simultaneously treated in the same room, under the care of two or more practitioners per child. Children from newborns to young teenagers are welcome.
